Description
NOT FOR USE ON ELECTRIFIED TRACK SYSTEMS
Designed for the safe and efficient removal of, primarily, Type A Elastic Rail Spikes when used in baseplates.
When the sleeper has deteriorated or is unsound, the user may find that the wider (165mm) EXTENDED FOOT improve anchorage of the ALL-METAL ELASTIC SPIKE EXTRACTOR in use. The EXTENDED FOOT is available for purchase as a separate item.
The EXTENDED FOOT may not be suitable in some locations due to restricted track geometry.
The tool is designed to allow the use of a correctly sized wedge and sledgehammer to release “frozen” spikes whilst avoiding excess stress on the extractor. The wedge, sized to fit the SPIKE EXTRACTOR, is available separately.
