Jafco Tools Ltd have taken the original design concept for an e-clip removal tool, created by Roy Evans and Toby Keates of Network Rail, we further developed it to create an efficient, fast, cost effective and innovative tool which has safety as a key design element.

Our aim from the start was to create a product which inspired and connected with Network Rail.

The customer is and always has been at the centre of our product development process. Our understanding of Network Rail Infrastructure through our ongoing partnership delivers the design direction needed to succeed.

The product was developed following a number of in-house “brain-storming” sessions. From day one it was always Jafco Tools goal to design a standalone tool encompassing a striking tool at its core, no hammer required. This resulted in the first prototype which was submitted for trial at Network Rail Whitmore.

Following the initial trials at Whitmore of two designs from Jafco Tools; design 1. Cage version and design 2. Hook-Guard version. These first innovative prototypes were then further improved though continuous testing and trials at Jafco Tools.

As a result of this a further set of innovative changes were made to the prototypes through discussions with Network Rail, Senior Ergonomics Specialist and Senior Reliability Improvement Specialist, resulting in the finished product.
