Insulated Trough Cover Lifter/Lid Tilter

Description

The INSULATED TROUGH COVER LIFTER/LID TILTER simplifies and accelerates the inspection and re-laying of cables straight troughs.  It is based on a system devised by AMEC, and works on the principle of a combined clamp and lever, which enables each separate cover to be lifted and tilted like a hinged lid, and held whilst the cable is inserted.

The metal clamp can be adjusted to the width of the trough lid.  The position of the handle can similarly be adjusted to allow use in restrictive areas.

The number of operators using the TILTERS can be optimised to allow the cables to be re-laid as a continuous operation.  For heavy lids, a minimum of two TILTERS should be used.

The INSULATED TROUGH COVER LIFTER/LID TILTER gives a considerable improvement on the existing work method, reducing time, fatigue, strain and risk of injury on this task by allowing the operator to raise the lids from a standing position keeping hands clear of the lid.  The handle of the tool is insulated, made of orange fibreglass and fully electrically tested in accordance with BS 8020:2011.
