To reduce risk of injury to workers from January 2010 Network Rail changed its specification to single-ended slewing and crowbars withdrawing all double ended bars from its PADS system. Only London Underground permits use of a double-ended slewing bar. All insulated slewing & crowbars use 1.3/8″ or 1.1/2″ diameter solid fibreglass ensuring minimum deflection in extreme use.
